Fertilizer
Fertilizer is an added soil amendment that provides plants with extra, added nutrients to promote fast and healthy growth. Fertilizer is typically enriched with minerals and elements called macronutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. For living things to grow and thrive these nutrients are needed and if they are missing from the soil or are hard to pull from the soil, the growth will be limited. Nitrogen is provided by amino acids, which attach to the always important carbon molecules from air and water.  Fertilizer provides extra phosphorus, which makes up all cell’s membranes, and ATP molecules, the main energy source plants need to grow. Plants also need potassium to metabolize and thrive. Fertilizer also contains secondary nutrients such as sulfur, calcium and magnesium, micornutrients such as boron, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese and zink, all of which aid in the healthy growth of plants.
Our organic fertilizer contains naturally occurring minerals and nutrients from various sources such as manure, insects, compost, seaweed or natural mineral deposits. Using organic fertilizer has many benefits over inorganic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer typically lasts longer as it releases its nutrients over a longer period of time. The minerals and nutrients in organic fertilizer are much more plant friendly, in terms of how the plants can access and absorb them.
Unlocking the long term benefits of using organic fertilizer in your lawn and garden. The main advantage of using organic fertilizer is that it improves the overall structure of the soil itself, which leads to healthier plants that grow larger and live longer.
