In October of 2013 I had my entire front yard filled in with (Marathon 2) sod. I have since followed the instructions given to me very carefully. I live in Norwalk, CA. With this said I was instructed to fertilize the sod every six months or so. So far I have just watered, and mowed the lawn, and it’s beautiful I get compliments all the time, it’s lush, and very green, as all the other lawns are yellow. Now I was told to give it the first fertilizer treatment in February, coming up here quickly, I was advised for this type of sod to use Triple 15-16 on it, which I have no clue what this is, I want to buy my fertilizer from your store, yet I again haven’t a clue what this type of fertilizer is, could you please advise, as I want to keep my lawn looking as great as it looks today. Joe, glad the lawn came out nicely. During the cooler months (October-March), we would recommend Best Nitra King 19-4-4. The rest of the year, use Best Turf Supreme 16-6-8. Also, normal fertilizing should be done every 6-8 weeks, not months. Both these fertilizers are available at our store for $24.65 and cover 8,000-10,000 square feet. {All rates vary on the amount purchased and are subject to change periodically}

Marilyn, don’t know how they are applying it because you need to give plenty of water right after aplication to break down
Pellets and then I tell people to give another good watering the next day so that it enter the soil and doesn’t stay on top anyway

They both turn the grass green fairly quick as long
As the weather is not too cold and once St Augustine turn brown
Its best to wait until it gets a little warmer so that the fertilizer can
